Profile

Ryuichiro Tanaka graduated from Fukuoka University with a Phar.B. degree in 1989, and he received the M.S. degree in 1991 from the Graduate School of Fukuoka University. He joined the Staff of the Laboratory of Professors T. Kawasaki and K. Miyahara in the Setsunan University, Osaka, and continued the search of the new compounds in some crude drug (the earthworm, the leech, and some invertebrates). He received the Ph.D. degree in natural product chemistry from Nagasaki University in 1998. Recently, he obtained some knowledge about new polar constituents of the Silkworm Bombyx mori L., the developmental changes of the constituents, and the relations of the metamorphosis, and he found the seeds of the medicine which improves gout. From 2007 to 2008, he served as a Peer-Reviewer in the committee of Kansai Bureau of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI).
